Last week, my friend Anna and I went to D’s Magazine’s Style Sheet Party! We had tons of fun and met lots of bloggers and “frequent” faces I’ve seen on T.V.

We went mainly because Anna works for D Mag, but also because we love to get dressed up, and who doesn’t love a few free cocktails!! Little did we know we would meet Courtney Kerr, from Most Eligible Dallas, Hilari Younger from this past season of HGTV Design Star, and Gregg Asher from

Also we were on the front page of D Magazine Style Sheet Website! So cool!

Hammocks for Cats?

8 Aug

As a cat lover, I thought this was a great idea. This is a great way to clear clutter in a small space.  Instead of a cat bed or all the other cat furniture you can find, this utilizes the wasted space underneath an exisiting chair! I want one for my future kitty!

Hyatt Regency Renovation after Hurricane Katrina

1 Aug

The June 2012 Issue of “Architectural Products” featured an article about the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans.  The hotel was was abandoned after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and taken under a $275 million renovation a few years later by Looney and Associates.

Looney’s Design is illustrated in the article:

“We wanted to make sure we captured some of the dynamic nature of New Orleans, but not in a predictable or trite way. Our goal was to minimize the things that dated the property and maximize the things that made it modern.”

As the article says, the renovation included revitalization of the existing 1,200 room guest tower and the addition of a new two-story adjacent building that houses the hotel’s new entrance and grand ballroom.

The Hyatt Regency served as the city’s headquarters during the peak of Hurricane Katrina, as the property was used to move evacuees from their homes to the neighboring Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Under new ownership and a highly, re-developed renovation the Hyatt Regency re-opened its doors in October 2011.
